Who This Checklist Is For

If you're reading this, something's already broken. A production line is down. A system integration is delayed. Or you just realized the Parker-Hannifin tube fitting you need has an 8-week lead time—and your deadline is next Thursday.

How do you find them?

I have mixed feelings about rush pricing. Part of me thinks it's a gouge—why should urgency cost double? Another part has seen the operational chaos that rush orders create—pulling stock from another customer, disrupting production schedules. Maybe the premium is justified. But here's what I know for sure: a vendor who tells you upfront, "The part is $75, shipping is $45, and we can have it there in 24 hours for a $60 surcharge"—that vendor will cost you less in the long run than the one who quotes $75 and surprises you with a $200 bill at checkout.
